A statement released by the ministry of information, signed by the Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah indicated that, the president of the republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-addo has gone into self quarantine.
“On the advice of a doctor, the president of the republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, is from today, July 4, 2020 taking a fourteen (14) day precautionary self-isolation measure in compliance with covid-19 protocols” the statement reads.
The release further added that, the president’s decision to self-isolate was informed by the fact that, a person within his close circle has tested positive for covid-19 today.
According to the release, the president has “as at today tested negative” but decided to go into isolation for fourteen days on precautionary grounds. Read the full statement below:
