Report coming in from the office of the President of Ghana points to the fact that Akufo-Addo has been directed by his medical advisor to proceed on a self-isolation for 14 days.
This new directive comes after a close associate of his tested positive for Coronavirus.
In a statement signed by the Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah said:
“The President has elected to do so after at least one person within his close circles tested positive for COVID-19 today.
He, has, as of today, tested negative but has elected to take this measure out of the abundance of caution.”
According to the statement, the President will be working form his office at the Jubilee House throughout these 14 days mandatory self-isolation.
Ghana’s COVID-19 case count is almost getting to 20,000 while the majority of the populace are still disregarding the safety protocols.
