Berekum Chelsea head coach Seth Hoffman has praised his side’s discipline on the pitch following their 0-0 stalemate with Hearts of Oak at the Golden City Park on Saturday afternoon.
Hoffman, who was appointed two weeks ago, came face to face with his former side in a testing duel in which the Blues created a host of chances.
Stephen Amankona, captain for Chelsea, displayed great agility and mobility on the 9th minute mark as he swerved Raddy Ovouka to negotiate for space before unleashing a deadly grounder which missed Richmond Ayi’s post by inches.
Three minutes after the interval Emmanuel Clottey managed to skew the ball past Ayi after he received a well calibrated crossfield ball from Amankona. But, the assistant 1 had already flagged him offside.
Hoffman was full of praise for his side during the post match interview.
“I was very much pleased with the discipline of my players. You could see that all the 50-50 incidents in the game went in favour of Hearts yet my players maintained their focus and did the important things in the game,” he said in the post match interview.
The Blues have moved out of the relegation zone on temporary basis as there are games scheduled for Sunday.
Chelsea have picked 2 wins from 10 games.
