Ghanaian international Salisu Mohammed was named on the Southampton substitute bench for their 3-2 loss to Newcastle United in the English Premier League on Saturday.
Salisu, 21, is yet to feature in a game for Ralph Hasenhüttl’s side due to documentation issues but was named on the bench of The Saints during the clash at the St James’ Park.
Southampton’s defeat at Newcastle means they have lost each of their last 5 games in the Premier League and are now probably faced with huge defensive question marks thus the manager’s decision to introduce Salisu on the bench.
Southampton sign the Ghanaian defender for £10.9m from Spanish La Liga side Real Valladolid in the summer of 2020 following his impressive performance for the side that is owned by former Brazil international Ronaldo Lima.
He is yet to be capped by Ghana.
