FC Haka manager Teemu Tainio has praised the capture of Ghanaian winger Ishmael Yartey.
Haka, 9-time winners of the Finnish Veikkausliiga title and 12-time champions of the Finnish Cup, sealed the move for the former SL Benfica youth team player and announced the deal on Wednesday morning.
Yartey is an immensely experienced player who has featured for clubs like Portland Timbers, FC Sion, Sochaux and FC Servette.
In 2019 the 31-year-old was voted the Player of the Year by Veikkausliiga side KPV despite joining them for just a half season. Yartey became a torn in the flesh of defenders in the league and scored many goals and provided crucial assists.
The prospects Yartey offers Haka is already exciting Teemu who has sang the praise of the Ghanaian winger.
“Ishmael is a powerful wing player who comes with the danger of attacking. A good one against one player who has a good left. A pleasant person outside the field and a winner on the field,” Tainio spoke of the Ghanaian.
Teemu is a renowned footballer himself and knows quality players when he sees them having featured for French side Auxerre, Tottenham Hotspur, Sunderland, Birmingham City, Ajax Amsterdam, New York Red Bulls.
