The Black Satellites crowned Ghana’s Independence Day celebration with an impressive 2-0 win over Uganda in the finals of the Africa U20 Cup of Nations.
Uganda started on a bright note pinning the Ghana into their own half at the early stages of the game.
Ghana quickly got themselves into the game as they took over creating chances.
Captain Daniel Afriyie got Ghana the lead after 23minutes when he got his leg onto Abdul Fatawu’s cross.
The three-time Champions however held on to half time.
Afriyie once again showed his leadership prowess by getting a second for Ghana and his second on the day when he tapped in a pass from Percious Boah in the 53rd minute.
Coach Karim Zito and his charges held on and maintain their groove in the remaining minutes to snatch away the prestigious trophy for the fourth time having won it in 1997, 1999 and 2009.
