The former Penn State University assistant soccer coach is setting his sights on
walking in the footsteps of top U.S Soccer gaffers like the head coach of MLS Side
Philadelphia Union Jim Curtin.

Coach Mike, who is following the exploits of Philadelphia Union Head coach Jim
Curtin is leaving no stone unturned as he aims at getting a coaching shot with one
of the MLS teams soon.

“I have been following Coach Jim’s exploits ever since he got the Philadelphia job,
he is a top-notch manager who understands the philosophy of the team and how
he wants to play”. He started as the way I have started with Union Academy and
because of his pedigree and track record we can attest to the fact that he is the right
man for the job, and he will continue to bring in talents to help the team. I like
what he has done and hopefully I will love to get a shot at coaching a top Major
League Soccer team sooner rather than later”.

With experiences in scouting for academy and junior teams in the Major
League Soccer, Tuffour’s vast knowledge in soccer will be an additional incentive
for any of the MLS teams should the need arises.

A former player himself, Tuffour has had playing roles in Ghana with Royal

Football Club, and Samuel Fels High School as well as Pennsylvania State
University (Abington NCAAIII) all in the United States.

Coach Mike was the assistant coach of Lone Star’s Football Club (NPSL Team)
between 2010-2014. He switched to Pennsylvania State University (Abington
NCAAIII) as assistant coach from 2011-2012. He became the LV Trainer for Lenape Valley Soccer Club/Pennsylvania Rush Soccer between 2012-2014.

As the Head Coach for Rising Stars Football Club between 2013-
2020 Tuffour distinguished himself and was signed on as Talent Identification
Scout in 2014 for Philadelphia Union Academy.

His knack for talent identification has been praised by his teams and colleagues in
the spells he has had at these clubs. In 2020 he signed on as a Youth coach for
Philadelphia Union.
