Ghanaian manager George Boateng guides Aston Villa U23 to emphatic win over Wolverhampton

Ghanaian manager George Boateng continues to carve his managerial niche as he guided Aston Villa’s U23 side to an emphatic 4-0 triumph over Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League 2 on Friday.

The Ghanaian-born former Dutch international was in the dugout at the Bodymoor Heath Training Ground as his boys disappeared from sight against a Wolves side that looked lost due to the high intensity of the Villa team.

The game was just over a minute old when Villa fashioned their first chance of the afternoon, with Hayden blazing a great chance over the bar following a neat combination between Barry and Ramsey down the right.

Kaine Hayden got the ball rolling with an early goal before Louie Barry doubled the lead with a penalty in first half stoppage time.

After the break, Villa captain Hayden got his second when he finished off a flowing team move before Aaron Ramsey put the finishing touches on a thumping victory.

Boateng, a former Premier League star who made his name starring for Villa, Middlesbrough and Hull City, is regarded as one of finest technical brains in the English Premier League 2.
