Hearts of Oak wunderkind Salifu Ibrahim believes the Phobians showed character to win a tough game against Medeama.
The Phobians cruised to a 2-0 victory thanks to strikes from Salifu Ibrahim and Benjamin Afutu Kotey in a game that saw great physicality from the two sides.
Hearts’ victory has extended their unbeaten run to 8 games in all competitions with the crucial victory over their top four rivals.
Salifu believes Hearts showed character where it mattered most to claim the maximum points.
“Tough games like these demand character and we showed character in the end to win the maximum points,” he said in the post match interview.
Salifu, who won his 8th MVP award of the season, also admits Medeama were a difficult side to beat.
“It was a tough game for us but this is the time that we need to grind the results in tough games like these. We were very determined and that is what helped us to claim the three points at stake. It was a tough game because Medeama were a tough side but we overpowered them in the end with those vital 2 goals,” he said in the post match.
